The Year 2009 paves way for a new year 2010 . at this moment i’m looking back to the eventful year 2009 to see the footprints it left over in my life.

The registration of a personal domain name (this site) is the first thing that comes to my mind when i think of 2009. yes it is an achievement.. and a big thanks to DreamHost.

I decided to give up my dream of an MBA. i just realized i should not waste much time thinking of MBA.. if it comes my way any time in future, i will take it.. but i’m not gonna dedicate too much of time on it.

Twitter!!! i wasn’t just a few months and few friends old in twitter when the year was born but at the end of the year i stand her with more than 7000 tweets and 550 friends. It was great to make contact with a lot (really a lot) of new friends through twitter and then through various other ways like tweetups and barcamps etc.

Barcamps and tweetups became a new way of social interaction for me. A lot of friends sharing a lot of views , a lots of dreams, a lot of ideas and ideologies. what i thought as a big things in life were in my hands this year through my friends. TedX was something i missed this year.

A few electronic items were bought this year and some are still in pending list. My New PC ,My New Camera(Fujifilm s200HD) ,My new TV tuner Card, new Headphone etc are the notable new things around me.. A new Mobile and a laptop are in the pending list.

Few Good Films were in theaters this year.. and i experienced multiplex for the very first time.  i’ve already written a post about my take on the malayalam movies of 2009.

Micheal Jackson’s death is the be the saddest moment of 2009, MJ was great in all means

Traditional Main Stream media vs New age media (blogs, twitter etc) was a unhealthy fight in 2009.. even though the Main Stream media was very strong in 2009 i can see a day not too far away were we main stream media is fought down.

For me Telangana issue sounds like a serious shame for India. it all sounded like someone is seriously planing a divide and rule policy on india. shame on how our leaders dealt with the issue.

YS Rajashekar reddy’s death was a shock to India and Andra pradesh. A salute to the great leader.

Mullaperiyar issue is blown out of context by senseless and brainless tamilnadu leaders. they should learn to respect lives of 40 lakh people..

Regionalism is becoming a cancer on Republic of India. we really need a strong leader at the center to stop the regionalism issue. Mumbai , Telangana , Goorkaland, and a lots of other narrow minded rationalist maniacs still on news is a real threat to United India.

some days back i had written a post about some difficulties i faced regarding the service of my honda activa (read it here) I posted the same in the feedback form of the Honda 2 wheelers India website.  Now within no time the response came flying in.

Mr Abilash , the Customer Care Manager of EVM Honda contacted me through phone and offered any help i need to fix the problems. Today evening he spared some time for me and patiently heard the issues. (He has good patience and temper.. i should admit it ) . He apologized for the trouble and offered every help he could.  The pending issues were fixed free of charge.

I had a chat with him about the system they have in place regarding making the customer sign the job card saying “i’m satisfied with the Service Done” even before showing the vehicle to the customer. His concerns were reasonable like it might not be too practical when there is a lot of customers around 5.30 PM (he said sometimes there might be around 80-100) comig to pick up the vehicle. I suggested if not practical to implement it fully at least implement it for non-free services issues . that should be a practical work around for it.

He also added they are taking strict care for issues like missing an internal part of the vehicle.

I wish he don’t end up in screwed up situations like this again

and to all those who are pissed of due to the bad services. try posting a complaint in the company website. it will make the service prompt and faster

I had Met With an accident on Sept 8 . My Activa had some minor scratches on the front side.

I gave the Activa for servicing on 26th Sept. Delay was due to the fact i couldn’t drive Activa due to my leg pain.

Any way i gave the activa for servicing.. It took them 7 Working days for the servicing.. which i feel is normal.. i have no complaints on that..

After Servicing They Gave me my Activa back on 7th October.

I don’t Understand Why the EVM Honda has a policy to get the customer Sign a form saying “i’m satisfied with the Service Done” and make the customer pay bills even before they show us the serviced vehicle. Which i feel is a kind of cheating the customer to get that signed even before showing the vehicle to the customer .

In My case the Service Personal had said there is a bent in the Handle when i gave the vehicle for servicing. They Promised to replace the Damaged Parts. which includes the Head Light , Front Right side Indicator, Front Top Panel, The Crash guardes on the Front Side and Painting Work. I had asked them to check if anything else is wrong.

When I got My Vehicle Back they had lame excuse of non availability of Indicator Light and Crash guards.
They Had called me on Oct 6th and informed me Head Light and indicator light will be available only next day and i agreed i will collect my vehicle on 7th. But they failed to arrange the Indicator Light for me.

I was surprised to see almost every single drop of petrol was still in the scooter which just means they haven’t even test driven the scooter after the servicing.

The Vehicle still had the Handle Bent when they delivered it to me. which they had quoted as the primary complaint in the vehicle.
The Indicator buzzer was Missing. They Just Forgot the put it back after the servicing.

The Front Top Panel after their Fixing Had a 5 cm Gap and was in no way suiting the Body. The Front Panel also had a Gap and it looked like there is a bend in the Panel.

I went back on 8th Oct in order to Fix it. Their Response was like You Hadn’t said there is a Problem of scooter stopping in between ride. After a accident i gave it to them for servicing i had told him the ridign isn’t comfortable . Isn’t it the Job of the Mechanic to test drive a accident vehicle and identify and inform me if there is such a issue?.

I really Had a heated argument about the issue. Any way the mechanic gave up argument soon and said he will fix the problems.

He added the Buzzer in a few minutes and then he had a long time checking and fixing the Front Panels of the Scooter. it was very evident that they had been very careless in fixing the Panel. He had so much to do to fix it.

The Scooter Still have a weird loud sound. I’m not planing to give it again to EVM Honda to Fix it. My Friend have suggested a place near vytilla to get the ACTIVA serviced. He said he too had many bad experiences regarding the service offered by EVM Honda..

I will never advice anyone to buy any Vehicles from EVM Honda. I’m so pissed off with their Service

I logged a complaint on the official Honda website 3 days back siting this URL and they called me up today to ask me about the issues with EVM honda …

The Worst Thing You can Now a Days Have is when you have to call a customer care service..The Blooddy Dirty Interactive voice Response system will just screw you around for some time..

Today Morning I really had to get in touch with the Customer Care to enquore about a few charges and also i wanted to activate GPRS in my mobile .. But The Customer Service Just Screwed Me.. it is The consume almost 2 minutes and i got really furious and decided not to enable GPRS now.. Its really Disgusting to waste 2 valuable minutes just to here nonsense recorded voice and more over just listen the Recording i made the Customer care cant even get the Due amount Message in sync..

It is really Hard to keep hearing the blooddy recorded voice for over 2 minutes and a lot more. I wish to hear a human voice atleast in 30 seconds..

Today I went for the 3rd Cochin Tweetup.  It was another amazing experience . I had my long time friend Dhanish along with me. we were wandering in the shopping malls from morning onwards. right at 6 PM we reached Barista , The venue for The Cochin Tweetup 3. Sidharth and Adeeth had already reached. I was meeting Adeeth for first time. A cool guy.  Shortly the Master Binny VA often reffered to as #binny arrived. The T Shirt he was wearing had the Text “Browse Me” on it. Soon Guys started to come in and Total Attendees list reached 15 including safdar (Faisal‘s son)

The Topics of Discussion were in different ranges. Binny’s Movie Poster Downloading Perl script was one of the hotttest Topic. Many Iced tea’s and icecream shakes reached the table soon.. The AC was a Bit too Cold for Dhanish .

Kenney, Roshin Roy, Roshan Menon, Arun,Vishnu, Fayaz, Vasanth, Tinu were all active on Different topics.. Wifi was again an issue. But otherwise the almost 3 hours meet was a great experience.

This Year April turned out to be special for me . really special

on 10th of April I turned 23 .. (remember PSLAM 23 )

After a long time (real long time) met my +2 school friends. we had a get together on 11th of april.It is truly amazing to see your old friends whom are now in good positions as engineers, doctors, entrepreneur etc etc.

Easter celebration were execption this time!!!

I registered this domain (www.ranjith.me) this month.. isnt that special considering the fact that i got it for free (speical offer by dreamhost)

We had an ORKUT community gettogether this month.. it was one of those rare things that happen…

and we had the cochin tweeetup this month #coktup(Â find more details on www.twitterkerala.com) 20 of the twitter users around kerala attended the event and it was a great success.

At job it was another happy month for me. Bluelabs ROX !!!!!

and bought a New PC for myself from ITNET

lots of good things happening.. and i hope good things will continue to happen

Revolutionizing the web through 140 words. The concept was seen with eyebrows raised by everyone initially. but soon it became popular .. very popular.. i mean twitter

i registered in twitter on 07/07/08 but initially wasn’t very active on twitter.. in fact like any other lay man it took time for me to understand what is its essence. The Question “what are you doing ?” is i think the 2nd simplest question anyone can ask you. First one being “How are you?”

There are a few people who took the twitter question “what are you doing?” in a literal sense . @alenp being one of them.
I suggest a change in the twitter question just for those who can’t think beyond anything literal “what where How when why?” one word extra but more meaning or meaningless!!!! anyway i read it somewhere and it just came to my mind while thinking about twitter.

till a recent time back being online meant we are nto in real world. but now things are changing. online friends meeting up quite often and much important. the online friends knows each other very well and are mostly of the same mindset to accept each other (do you think otherwise they would have become friends?)

Orkut meets,Twitter meets etc happening very often and good participation every time..

last weekend i had the Orkut meet up of Kerala Friends Club community and also in the same evening i attended the cochin Twitter meet up aka Tweetup (#coktup, @sid88 coined it). more details of the #coktup available at twitterkerala.com

Lots of business for proper users and for spammers its almost loosing customers.. that is the online world (or rather twitter) today for you.

This is the copy of the article that i wrote for the college magazine. . i thought i will post a copy of it in my blog. just for everyone to read.

I don’t want a go back to my Engineering College Life…

Yes! you read it correctly… I’ve always heard people saying college life was the golden time of their life and they dream of going back to those days. but surely that isn’t the case with my BTech student Life. If I’m given a chance to do that course again I won’t take it, because you can’t make the bad decision twice. I still believe I made the worst decision of my life when I cancelled my higher option to get admission to MA College. My friend got in to MA College just because I cancelled my higher option.

I already got a bad signal before I joined the college. The strikes against admission process in the private self financing colleges were going on at that time. The visuals of strike were shown on television. And the way a professor was reacting to the strikers and to the media personals were shown in television. Even though the media marked him out in red circle on television I thought it would be just a momentarily reaction but I later understood that is his character and none of the students or staff liked him. Lucky for the new students he has left the college now.

Another instance which comes to my mind was the worms in water of Girls hostel. The girls were complaining a lot about the worms in the water. They complained but there was no proper response. They were given reply as “it might be a rare instance”. The girls were afraid even to take bath in that water, and we were the worst to suffer because of their smell due to non-bathing (just kidding). After 3 days, when the whole college came to know about this and after we had a long discussion about it in orkut and yahoo chat rooms and when few started to move over to relatives’ homes authorities took action. I remember somebody jokingly wrote “Recipe of worm noodles”.

Abhiyantriki was the best event I had while in college. 48 hours on duty without sleep!!! I haven’t enjoyed any work like that.. it was one of the turning points of my life were i actually realized my potential. I owe a lot to my seniors and teachers who gave me a very responsible task for the event. Special mention to my partner in crime Vivek M. L…

How can i forget Bharatam 2006!? Bharatam 2006 was the first time (and last time so far) i was on stage for a program other than a speech. Perfect planning, perfect understanding between the teammates, near to perfect execution that was the key to our success for Bharatam 2006. Not just me but I’m sure everyone enjoyed every bit of Bharatam 2006. i got appreciation from many people for doing good job in the Bharatam 2006 even though i actually did very little. It was my Friends Rosh and Ashly who did most of the work. Ashly’s performance with keyboard was awesome. Teena and Rosh proved others are too far from even a competition on stage. Brand Wars!.. i won’t forget it.. some very nice funny moments, Vinay and koshy did really well..

Reading last 2 paragraphs you might feel I liked college. No it’s only a little bit of it. Worse things were there, a lot more in number. But I don’t feel like mentioning them just because I got lot better things to do and most of the characters involved have moved out of college.

Yesterday i went to my old college(RAJAGIRI SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY). The event was an interaction session with the 2006-2010 batch B-Tech (IT) students. The event was named “Filling the Gap”. The name of the event was very apt . it was all about telling them the gap between where they are now and where they are aiming at..

I felt really Nostalgic once i entered the classroom. It was really wonderful seeing the students in my place and totally different at the thought i was in the shoes of a lecturer. i cant explain it properly through words. I have given long and short speeches on many small and large stages, have acted in skits during college days etc etc, but this very feeling was really amazing and one of its kind for me.

The class was very obedient unlike what we used to be in our days of college life .

I love having such talks and I hope i can get more stages of same kind.

Buying new computer? go thorugh these tips.

Let me ask you one simple question? whats your main purpose of buying a computer.. i’ve seen a lot of people who forget this when they buy computers. Everyone has some reason for buying a computer. either business or software development or timepass whatever it may be try finding the computer that can help you mostly what happenes is the sales executive praises a particular computer because he gets more benefits buy selling that particular one and most of the customers falls in his words.. let it not happen to you

Budget…!!! yeah it is the most crucial part of it. if you are in tight budget make sure you get the best suiting your budget. there are good computers available in all budgets wheter it be small, medium or high !!! never go for too high cost for absoultly useless (i mean if it is of no use to you) accessories for your Computer. accessories really kills your money.

Brand.. My simple advice is always to go for the best brand.. now you may ask me which is the best brand. answer is simple.. the one you feel best is the best!! for me i’ve felt same performance for all the brands of same price range and specifications. the most important thing to note here is which brand has the best service available and what are the terms and conditions in the service agreement. also check whose service cneter is more comfortable for you to reach to.. in case the brands dosent offer on-site service check the locations of the service centers also

Search… yeah search for the best.. there is no other substitute for search.. asking your friends is the best option.. never ask someone just because he is good in making powerpoint presentations find someone who has good knowledge of computer hardware.. and ofcourse google it

Dont fall in ads. yeah when there is a price cut or free accessories, understand something is wrong because no one is ready to suffer loss….!!!

when you are planning for a laptop because you need to travel make sure it is carriable.. weight does matter..!!! if the laptop is to replace your desktop then go for the biggest screen size possible. and in any case always go for the ones with monitor and keypad that you feel is the best

I’m Wondering Whats wrong with me …

is it because of the lost love.. or may be it can be called as an after-effect of a love failure.
I’ve decided to live this life without thinking about her again. and the hunt for a girl who can understand me is on.

Don’t know if i will win in this hunt but surely i’m not ready to give up because of a failure.

It was really hard for me to realize that I’m “just another one” for her.

I’m ready to correct myself. please everyone help me to improve.. give suggestions and advices for me to improve myself..

When i look back i feel i missed 4 crucial years of my life.   right from the day i joined the college one girl caught my eye.  i don’t know why i fell in love with her…  but in simple words she was the world for me and i was yet another crap for her. she never loved  me but i never stopped loving her.  by the time i realized the harsh realities of life i had lost myself. everything was out of control.

Now I’m on a path back to myself. I’m trying to get engaged maximum in other activities so that i can forget her.  I’ve  already deleted all the contacts with her. i don’t want to see her or hear about her again.
