In the Recent ad (Malayalam Version) by Kalyan jewelers they are cashing in on the trust factor.. but of late there has been a row of emails which say even though they focus on trust between daughter and father , they are showing a great cheating by the girl on the boy. the face expression of the boy clearly shows the untrustworthy feeling . This has been the story of the Malayalam version of it .
here is the Malayalam version video

and this image says it

for more details pictorial view of the email forward check this
But today i saw Tamil version of the ad in which the director has cleanly managed to draw a great factor of trust.

See the video

seeing the Tamil version i felt like  the Malayalam ad tries to convey a message like no one cares for a boys feeling in kerala.

26/11 have we changed over a year?

first anniversary of 26/11 is nearing.. have we changed over past one year time.. or is everything the same as it was???

Media culture : Small change petition by vishal dadlani was something really meaningful. even the kids can realize the media live telecast has helped the terrorists to dynamically plan their movements. 26/11 was mostly telecasted as an attack on Taj hotel. true it was one of the major attack points. but most of the media reports had less importance on the life of common men who died at other locations. the fisher who were killed by terrorists, the common men who were shot dead at the CST on the way to Taj etc etc.. Only the VIPs staying at the Taj really made it to the news.

Kasab : The kind of VIP treatment given to terrorists.ajmal amir qassab Its true that every indian is feeling pissed of seeing the 6 crore van bought exclusively for kasab. How much do the Police think kasab can reveal about the 26/11 incidents. i feel like he has already given most of the statements he can.. he should be hanged o death before the terrorists plan another “kandahar” or similar. why should the Taxpayers money misused on a terrorist .? and it is heard the bodies of rest  9 terrorists is still kept in mortuary under special police protection.. why?? do they expect a corpse to come out an confess for what happened? again a big waste of money. better would be to throw those dead bodies to be eaten by dogs..

how many politicians now even think about the incident.  just yesterday there was blasts in Assam. Have our politicians done anything or do they look like they will do anything. ? Maoists naxals all within india and the outside india terrorists.  Do our politicians have a proper idea on how to get rid of the terrorists? its all the marathi manoos on the news.  i won’t be surprised if   thackerays  declare the non marathis murdered on 26/11  deserved it for  trying to capture maharashtra which is only for marathis.

How many of you remember about the NSG commandos , the “MARCOS” (“Marine Commandos“) , the Police and the common men who sacrificed/ risked their life during on those  dark hours?

Nothing seems like showing a prosperous future but infact most of the news today  just makes us feel feared.

MullaPeriyar Dam issue: What is wrong with the Tamil nadu Politicians

Posted on : 12-11-2009 | By : Ranjith | In : Social

3

Mullaperiyar Dam is constructed over the headwaters of the Periyar River river in Kerala, India. The Periyar National Park, Thekkady is located around the Periyar reservoir formed by the backwaters of this dam. It is operated by the Government of Tamil Nadu according to a 999-year lease agreement made during erstwhile British colonial rule. The name is derived from a portmanteau of Mullaiyar and Periyar. As the dam is located after the confluence of the Mullayar and Periyar Rivers, the river and hence the dam came to be called Mullaperiyar. Mullaperiyar dam

The Main purpose of building the Dam was to serve as a irrigation source for the some districts in TamilNadu. No One seems to have a question on that.

The Dispute started when the leaks started to show in 110 year old dam. The Dam is made of lime and surki which were the best of construction materials available over a century ago. But How long can a Dam built on lime and surki can survive that too on a earthquake prone area. The British Engineer Colonel John Pennycuick who build the dam Predicted only a life span of 50 years for the Dam.  Studies suggest a raise in the level of water will increase the water pressure and would end up i breakage of Dam walls. Studies conducted by IIT suggest the area where the dam is located is prone to earthquake as strong as 6.5 in ritcher scale. and the result would be a complete destruction of the dam built in lime and surki. The videos of leakage in the Dam had been out in the visual medias many times and it clearly suggest there are lot of weak points in the Dam.

what kerala Government want is very simple .. build a new dam and ensure the safety of 35 lakh people who might other wise be washed away if the Dam walls breaks. kerala Government also adds they will continue the supply of water to TamilNadu from the new dam. Here is an excerpt from the kerala governments official website …Tamil Nadu political leaders like Jayalalitha and Karunanidhi are saying Building the new dam will be against the interest of people of tamil nadu. The interest of Tamil Nadu in mullaperiyar Dam is to get Water and Kerala Promises the uninterrupted supply of water.
So is the interests of Tamil Nadu hurt in anyway???

The only interest that seems to be hurt is the interest of getting votes for the politicians in next election. The Tamil Nadu politicians doesn’t seem to be bothered of safety of Dam or safety of life’s of people of Kerala. They still say the dam made of lime and surki can last 999 years (even a kindergarten student may laugh at them for this argument) and they want the water level to be increased further on an already dangerous dam.

The following Video shows how weak and dangerous the dam really is even after all the polishing wok by the tamilnadu government.

If the dam bursts and people are killed then Murder case should be charged on the Chief Ministers of tamil Nadu who ruled the state from 1979 onwards.

A Biased thought on Reservations

Posted on : 03-11-2009 | By : Ranjith | In : Social

1

Reservation is always a hot topic for media and politicians and always a big head ache for the system. No Politician ever want to loose votes from the minorities and hence they never speaks a word against Reservation.

I was always left reservedwondering why do we have reservation. its merits, its demerits, its implementation etc..

Let us analyze it in a broader view.

We have a bigger society were some are really privileged with all the facilities of life and some cant even dream of those facilities.  To make the country progress in a proper way we need progress of all class of the society both privileged and under privileged. we cant expect the second section of people(the underprivileged) to shine in every field as the first section (the privileged). Here we need to keep some Reservation so that we can ensure a minimum number of people from the under privileged section also gets chance to access the knowledge and other resources that they otherwise wont get.

So Now How to Implement it ?  many have different views.  But i got mine. It is focused on particular Scenario i thought about.  It might not hold true for all situations.

Let us assume we have admission to 100 seats in a college . out of which 25% is reserved for particular section (say section 1)of people and another 25% reserved for another section of people (say section 2). Rest 50% goes as General

Assume In the rank list in top 50 ranks we have 12 people from section 1 and  15 people from section 2 and rest 23 from the general category. and between ranks 51 and 80 we have 10 people from section 1 and 15 people from section 2 and between ranks 81 to 100 we have 20 people from general section.  and between ranks 101 and 150 we have 4 people from section 1 and 5 people from section 2 and 41 people from general section and above 150 there are lots of people from all these sections

Now how should we assign the seats.  ?

Let us check out the  Normal procedure in practice
Normally what happens is that irrespective of reservation top 50 will get into the 50 general seats available.  and in the rest 50 reserved seats the section 1 and section 2 people gets in over taking the merit of the general category people and this will always result in a situation like (in this particular scenario) we have 37 people of section 1 and 40 people of section 2 gets seats and only 23 people from general section gets seats in general category.  It surely gives priority to the under privileged sections through reservations but also to a huge extend this procedure denies the chance of the eligible people who better deserve the seats.  like The people of general section who got ranks between 51 and 100 gets don’t get a chance of admission where as people of section 1 and 2 and have ranks above 100 still have gets a seat.
I believe this actually results in the negative equilibrium of what the reservation actually is intended for.

So how should we go about filling the reservation seats. ?

Assign the 12 people of section 1 and 15 people of section 2 into the respective reservation categories.  that is after assigning seats  for top 50 people the situation will be like

Reservation section 1 -      12/25
Reservation section 2 -      15/25
General               -         23/50

Now assigning the next 50 ranks  reservation categories goes into reservation tables. and when reservation seats are over they gets chance for general seats if available

Reservation section 1 -      22/25
Reservation section 2 -      25/25
General               -         50/50 (5 people of section 2 also gets seat in general section )

and also 3 people from section 1 whose ranks are above 100 gets their chance of admission in the reserved seats and 3 people of general category loses their chance

Which means we will have 25 people from section 1 and 30 people from section 2 and 45 from the general section getting admission. I feel Filling the seats in this pattern will promise a better distribution of seats.

I might be  right I might be wrong. Feel Free to point out errors (i’m sure there are many) ..
Do keep in mind it is a particular scenario centric view.

I Believe we should reduce the percentage of reservation seats every 5 years and gradually eradicate the curse of reservation from our country. The politicians and religious leaders are the actual traffic blocks  for this. Screw them
