മുല്ലപെരിയാര്‍ : മലയാള നാടിന്‍റെ വിലാപം

മുല്ലപെരിയാര്‍ ഡാം പണിതപ്പോള്‍ ഡാമിന്‍റെ ആയുസ് നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്നത് 50 വര്‍ഷത്തേക്കാണ്.. ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഡാമിന്‍റെ പ്രായം 116 കഴിഞ്ഞു.. വിള്ളലുകളും ചോര്‍ച്ചയും ഒരു വാര്‍ത്തയല്ലാതെയായിട്ടു നാളുകളേറെയായി.. ചെറുതും വലുതുമായ ഭൂകമ്പങ്ങള്‍ അതിജീവിച്ചു എപ്പോള്‍ വേണമെങ്കിലും തകരാം എന്ന രീതിയില്‍ കാലത്തിന്‍റെ ശവകുഴിയിലേക്ക് കാലുനീട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ഡാം സുരക്ഷിതമാണെനു പറയുനത് വിവരവും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവുമുള്ള ഒരു ജനതയുടെ സാമാന്യ ബുദ്ധിയ്ക്കു മനസിലാകുന്ന ഒരു ഭാഷയല്ല.

കഴിഞ്ഞ ഒരു വര്‍ഷത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ 26 ഭൂകമ്പങ്ങള്‍ ആണ് മുല്ലപെരിയാറിനു സമീപ പ്രദേശങ്ങളില്‍ ഉണ്ടായത്. മുല്ലപെരിയാര്‍ അണക്കെട്ടിന്‍റെ ഭിത്തിയോട് ചേര്‍ന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളില്‍ ശക്തമായ ഭൂകമ്പം ഇതുവരെയും ഉണ്ടാകാത്തത് മലയാളികളുടെ ഭാഗ്യം ഒന്ന് കൊണ്ട് മാത്രമായിരിക്കാം. 35 ലക്ഷം ജനങ്ങളുടെ ജീവന്‍റെ ഈ പ്രശ്നത്തില്‍ വികാരപരമായല്ലാതെ പിന്നെങ്ങിനെ പ്രതികരിക്കണം എന്നാണു രാഷ്ട്രീയ നേതൃത്വം ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നത് ?? കഴിഞ്ഞ അന്‍പതിലധികം വര്‍ഷമായി വിവേകപരമായി ഈ പ്രശ്നം കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തു രമ്യമായ ഒരു പരിഹാരം ഉണ്ടാക്കാന്‍ കഴിയാത്ത രാഷ്ട്രീയ നേതൃത്വത്തിന് ഈ കാര്യത്തില്‍ ജനങ്ങളോട് ആജ്ഞാപിക്കാന്‍ എന്തധികാരമാണുള്ളത് ?? പൊതുജനം എന്ന കഴുതകള്‍ കുതിച്ചു വരുന്ന ജലക്രൂരതയ്ക്ക് മുന്നില്‍ ഒന്നും മിണ്ടാതെ, വികാരം പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കാതെ, സമാധാനപരമായി വെള്ളം കുടിച്ചു മരിച്ചു കൊള്ളണം എന്നാണോ ? ബാക്കി വരുന്ന ജനങ്ങളുടെ നേതാക്കളായി ഞങ്ങള്‍ ഭരണം തുടര്‍ന്നു കൊള്ളാം എന്നാണോ രാഷ്ട്ട്രീയ നേതൃത്വം മനസ്സില്‍ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് .

മുല്ലപെരിയാറിലെ ഗുരുതരാവസ്ഥ ദേശീയ ശ്രദ്ധയില്‍ വേണ്ടും വിധം അവതരിപ്പിക്കാനും ഇതിന്‍റെ ഭീകരത ബോദ്ധ്യപ്പെടുതാനും നമ്മുടെ നേതാക്കള്‍ക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടോ.. സംസ്കാരമില്ലാതെ സംസാരിക്കുന്ന സാംസ്കാരിക നേതാക്കളും , കപട പരിസ്ഥിതി വാദികളും , മറ്റെല്ലാ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ക്കും പരിഹാരം നിര്‍ദേശിക്കുന സിനിമാ താരങ്ങളും ഈ പ്രശ്നത്തില്‍ എവിടെ പോയി ?? ഹോമിയോ മരുന്നു കഴിക്കുനത് പോലെ ഇടക്കിടക്കുള്ള രാഷ്ട്ട്രീയ നേതൃത്വത്തിന്‍റെ മുല്ലപെരിയാര്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശനം കൊണ്ട് മുല്ലപെരിയാര്‍ വിഷയത്തില്‍ പരിഹാരം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്ന് ഈ നാട്ടിലെ കൊച്ചു കുട്ടികള്‍ പോലും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല, ഓരോ നിമിഷവും ഭീതിയില്‍ കഴിയുന്ന ജനതിനാവശ്യം പുതിയ ഡാം നിര്‍മിക്കാനാവശ്യമായ നടപടിയാണ്, അതിനു വേണ്ടുന്ന തീരുമാനങ്ങളാണ്.

ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാരുടെ തോക്കിന്‍ മുനയില്‍ തിരുവിതാംകൂര്‍ രാജാവ് ഒപ്പിട്ട കരാറിനെ ഭയന് സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ അറുപത്തിനാലാം വര്‍ഷത്തിലും ഒരു ജനതയ്ക്ക് ജീവിക്കേണ്ടി വരുനത്‌ പരിഹാസ്യമാണ്. കഴിഞ്ഞ തലമുറക്ക്‌ പറ്റിയ ഒരു തെറ്റ് തിരുത്തുവാന്‍ ഇപ്പോഴെങ്കിലും നാം തയ്യാറായില്ലെങ്കില്‍ , അതിനായി കര്‍ശന ചുവടുവെപ്പ്‌ നടത്തിയില്ലെങ്കില്‍ ഒരു പക്ഷെ ഒരു പുതിയ തലമുറക്ക്‌ ഇവിടെ ജനിക്കാനുള്ള അവകാശം നിഷേധിക്കലാക്കും അത്.

ഒരു നിമിഷം ഓര്‍ക്കൂ. ഈ ഡാം തമിഴകതായിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്‍? അണ്ണനും അണ്ണിയും എന്ത് നിലപാട് എടുത്തേനെ??? പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി എന്ത് പറയുമായിരുന്നു ??

Mouth Shut Protest on Mullaperiyar Issue… Software Engineers on Action

Yesterday we decided to get on streets with a mouth shut protest as an extension to the online campaigns and last week’s campaign at Marine Drive. We decided to do a mouth Shut Protest against the Manmohan singh attitude (silent mode) of our leaders inlcuding Ernakulam MP & minister KV Thomas . we gathered together at Palarivattam Jn with candles and Banners .

We are not done with yesterday and will continue with this on every working day.. If anyone wanna join us please do so .. we will be there on working days (excluding harthals) around 6 pm

Twestival 2011 is going to happen worldwide on 24th March 2011.
Twestival is short form for Twitter Festival. It is basically a mega tweet-up with lots of things added. In short, it is the ultimate Twitter Festival. Twitter Festivals or Twestivals happen all around the globe once a year. Twestival is one day event happening in multiple cities. The major aim of Twestival is the meet those who all are behind the tweets and join hands for a noble cause. The real power of Twestival is when everything comes together on one day, giving focus to an important cause, the cause being different every year.

Cochin Twestival is part of the Global event happening on 24th March 2011 and will be held at Cochin Gymkhana , vytilla , Cochin in the state of Kerala , India. Cochin Twestival aims at supporting Adarsh Chartiable Trust. Adarsh is an institute started by a wonderful set of people caring for and enabling the rehabilitation of differently-abled children. They lend more than a helping hand to children who have been diagnosed with brain-developmental-disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism, learning disorders which in most cases forces the children to drop out of or never attend conventional schools at all. They have grown from a modest institute looking after 7 children to an inspirational one helping over 230 children from all communities. A casual glance at their website, www.adarshrehab.com endears one to their cause. It is a work of great proportion, and the numbers involved can definitely be increased if we pitch in with support. Adarsh encourages children from the ages of 6 months to 12 years to be brought to their school for therapy and training, where they would be relegated to the care of trained therapists and medical consultants from various disciplines, and provided counseling. It does not end there – the children are also made to feel completely at home and equally like anyone else, by maintaining the atmosphere of a normal school, with uniforms, time-tables, assembly, competitions, excursions, etc.

It is the responsibility of each human being to help the needy ones. We have got a chance to live a better life with the “grace of God”, that doesn’t mean that we should just enjoy our and should worry about the society. How to Display 45% discount as 90% discount

This is a Post that was pending for long time.

Every day when i read news paper or go to shopping malls i normaly find the “90% off” tag.. always it is the simplest way to get customer attraction and easiest way to make people spent more money … and most of the marketers use the same method to market the product.

Here is one such example i found today in a discount sale website.

in this The Offer is actually a 90% discount on a voucher of Rs 500.. but the catch is that you need to make atleast a Rs 1000 order to avail the offer .. which means Rs 450 off will be in effect a maximum discount of 45% on Rs 1000/-

its the simplest way to deceive customers into getting interested in the products on sale. i’ve spotted similar offers in many stores in the shopping malls where they offer 50% discount which works in a similar way and ends up giving customer only 25% discount. Normally you see get Rs 1000 off for purchase of Rs 2000 and they will hand over a Rs 1000 voucher which can be availed at next purchase of Rs 2000/-

The math here works simple.. you need to make purchase of Rs 4000/ - (2 purchases of Rs 2000.. one to get Rs 1000 voucher and 2nd to use it) the net discount is 1000 in 4000 which means 25% and not the 50% they offers.

It might be one of those simple and cunning marketing strategies… but as a customer i need to be more careful about what i spent.. and you too check for the catch next time you see such a discount. Hard earned Money is precious.. save it..

The important features of Project Vigeye are:

Citizens have multiple channels to air their grievances and complaints to CVC
a) Through their mobile phones: by downloading the mobile application from the CVC website. The complaints can be better articulated with additional data like audio/ video/ photo evidence from their mobiles directly.
b) Through the internet: by filling up the complaint form online they can attach audio/video/photo evidence.
c) Through telephone: help line have been setup
The entire complaint processing is done online, in digital form, enabling fast and accurate processing of complaints.
The concerned CVO will interact with the complainant directly over phone/email or in person, as the case may be, to take it forward
Status of the complaint is communicated back to the complainant – the communication loop becomes complete

It could have been Something that would have forgotten as yet another disaster in the history.. until fate said “no you have to rethink”.

33 Chilean Miners trapped underground for 70 days and then rescued is one of the biggest story of human love and god’s blessing.

No One much cared when the 33 miners were trapped underground.. the media wrote it as another mishap. but when they were found to be alive after 17 days the things were different. Chile Government knew the real value of human lives and decided to pull them out at any cost. All it took was will power. a mind to help your fellow beings and they just did that.

When the FENIX was lowered last week to fetch the first man out of the mine, every channel in the world had it covered live. i think it was an even bigger broadcast than Olympics or FIFA world cup ; just because it was love and all had only one thing in mind. “To see the 33 miners live”. Not just the Chileans but the whole world prayed for one single reason. Not everyone knew the place called “Copiapo” in Chile or the sanjose mine or the 33 miners , but Everybody prayed for the mission success. and Gods cant offer deaf ears when the whole world prays for one noble cause.

In the End it was the greatest story of human love ever told. Something we all can share with the next generations. a true Story which proved nothing is impossible if humans stand united.

മഞ്ഞപിത്തം പിടിച്ച മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ നഗ്നതയെ പുതിയ ഫാഷനായി വ്യാഘ്യാനിച്ചു പ്രശംസിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് നഗ്നനായ രാജാവിനെ പുകഴ്ത്തുന്നു… അത് കേട്ട് ഫാഷനെ പറ്റി ഒന്നും അറിയാത്ത മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ പ്രേരണയാല്‍ മഞ്ഞ കണ്ണട ജന്മനാ ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുന സാധാരണ ജനം അതാണ്‌ നമ്മുടെ നാടിലെ പുതിയ ഫാഷന്‍ എന്ന് തെറ്റിധരിക്കുന്നു..

എന്നാല്‍ രാജാവ് നഗ്നനാണ് എന്ന് വിളിച്ചു പറയാന്‍ നഗ്നത എന്താണെന് അറിയാവുന ഒരു ഐടിക്കാരന്‍ വേണ്ടി വന്നു..

അപ്പോഴും ആ മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു വക്താവ് പറയുന്നു.. അല്ല ഫാഷന്‍ എന്നാല്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഇതാണ്.. ഇത് നഗ്നത അല്ല ഇത് പുതുമ ആണ്…. നഗ്നത ആണ് എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് നിനക്ക് കണ്ണിനു തിമിരം പിടിച്ചത് കൊണ്ടാണ് വേണമെങ്ങില്‍ നീ മഞ്ഞ കണ്ണട ധരിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് ഒന്നുകൂടി നോക്കൂ …. ഞങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഈ പുതിയ ഫാഷന്‍ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നു.. ഇതിനെ നഗ്നത എന്ന് വിളിക്കുനത്‌ നിന്റെ ചീപ്പ്‌ പബ്ലിസിറ്റി സ്റ്റണ്ട് ‌ ആണ്..
മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ പറയുന്നു “മഞ്ഞ കണ്ണട സിന്ദാബാദ് ” ജനങ്ങള്‍ ഏറ്റു വിളിക്കുന്നു ” മഞ്ഞ കണ്ണട സിന്ദാബാദ് “

I was reading the blog post written by my friend Andrine Mendez about Oberon mall being empty most of the time.

These are some thoughts i had in my mind when i read it..
just sharing it with you

Oberon mall is empty most of the time..

The Reason??

How long can a shopping mall in small city like Cochin present freshness to its people.. unlike Bangalore or Chennai here the high salaried people are lesser in number.. Oberon had the crowds just because it was a new experience to them… now the honeymoon period is over…

People in IT sector who actually earns more and spends even more have become little conscious after the recession. in fact more conscious than their Bangalore and Chennai counterparts (salary is comparatively lower in Cochin )

The Rentals at Oberon mall is way too high for the Cochin standards and as a result the price tag is too heavy for the common man. why purchase from Oberon when we get better things at cheaper rates from outside.

There may be more reasons.. what ever i have stated may or may not be correct.. you are free to agree or disagree…. but this is what i felt about the reason for Oberon being empty..

Since the huge Air tragedy at Mangalore last saturday facebook and twitter profiles of the people died in the tragedy are getting a huge visits and some people feels the comments that are posted are little unfair in the contest. The Social media hasn’t been able to tackle this problem in a good way.

I’ve found only facebook is putting some effort into this by introducing report a deceased users profile page. they introduced it sometime back but not everyone know about it. i first came across it last year when a friend of mine died and i reported it to facebook..

സെന്‍സസ് പീഡനങ്ങളും ടീച്ചര്‍മാരും എന്ന
ബ്ലോഗ്‌ പോസ്റ്റിനു ഒരു മറുപടി

പരിഭവങ്ങള്‍ മനസിലാക്കുന്നു… എങ്കിലും ചില കാര്യങ്ങളില്‍ പരിപൂര്‍ണമായി യോജിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയുനില്ല.

എന്റെ അഭിപ്രായങ്ങള്‍

1) എലൂരിലെ ആ വ്യക്തി ചെയ്തത് തികച്ചും മ്ലേച്ചമായ ഒരു കാര്യം ആണ്.. എന്ന് കരുതി നാട്ടുകാര്‍ മുഴുവന്‍ അതരക്കാരാണ് എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞവസാനിപ്പിക്കരുത്. അതൊരു ഒറ്റപെട്ട സംഭവമാണ്.. അയാള്കെതിരെ പോലീസ് കേസ് എടുത്തു കഴിഞ്ഞു. അയാള്‍ക് തക്കതായ ശിക്ഷ കിട്ടും എന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാം

2) മാര്‍ക്കര്‍ പെന്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചുള്ള എഴുത്ത് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ തീരുമാനം ആണ് എന്ന് പറയാതെ ആണ് എന്റെ വീടിലും അത് ഉപയോഗിച്ച് എഴുതിയത്.. അത് ഒരു സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഉത്തരവ് ആണ് എന്നാ കാര്യം എല്ലാവരും അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കണമെന്നില്ല എന്ന കാര്യം ടീച്ചര്‍ സൌകര്യപൂര്‍വ്വം മറന്നു.

3) വളര്‍ത്തു നായ്ക്കളുടെ ശല്യം എന്ന് പറയുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ… ഇന്ന് പല വീടിലും വളര്‍ത്തു നായകള്‍ ഉണ്ട്.. വീട്ടില്‍ ആരെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടോ എന്നറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു നായ ഉണ്ടോ ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ പൂട്ടിയിടൂ എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞതിന് ശേഷം മാത്രം കയറുനതായിരിക്കും ഉചിതം. പോലിസ്കാരുടെ അസാമാന്യ കര്‍ത്തവ്യ നിര്‍വഹണം മൂലം നായ്കളില്ലാതെ വീട്ടില്‍ സുഘമായി കിടനുറങ്ങാന്‍ പറ്റാത്ത ഒരു കാലത്താണ് നമ്മള്‍ ജീവിക്കുനത് എന്ന് കൂടി ഓര്‍ക്കുക. സെന്സെസ് എന്നല്ല ഏതൊരാവശ്യത്തിനു എവിടെ കേറുന്നതിനു മുമ്പും പട്ടിയുണ്ടോ എന്ന് നോക്കുനത് ജീവന് നല്ലതായിരിക്കും .

4) കള്ളുഷാപ്പ്‌, ബാര്‍ , ഒഴിഞ്ഞ കെട്ടിടങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാം നാട്ടില്‍ ഉള്ളവ തന്നെ. അവയുടെ കണക്കും സെന്സെസില്‍ ഉള്‍പെടണം. അതിനു ലോക്കല്‍ ആയിട്ടുള ആരുടെയെങ്ങിലും ഒരു ചെറിയ സഹായം തേടാവുനതല്ലേ… പ്രതിയേകിച്ചു സ്കൂള്‍ പൂട്ടി ഇരിക്കുന അവസരത്തില്‍ മുതിര്‍ന ക്ലാസ്സുകളിലെ കുട്ടികളും മറ്റും ഫ്രീ ആയിരിക്കും.. അല്ലെങ്ങില്‍ അടുത്ത വീടുകളിലോ മട് സമീപ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലോ ഉള്ള ആരുടെയെങ്ങിലും ഒരു സഹായം ചോദിക്കാന്‍ പാടില്ലേ..? ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് തന്നെ ഇതൊക്കെ ചെയ്യണം എന്ന് നിര്‍ബന്ധം പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടോ സെന്സെസ് നിയമാവലിയില്‍?

5) സത്യമല്ലാത്ത വിവരങ്ങള്‍ ആരെങ്കിലും നല്കുനുന്ടെങ്കില്‍ അതിന്റെ ഭവിഷ്യത് നിങ്ങള്‍ അധ്യാപകര്‍ക്കല്ല എന്നും കൂടി ഓര്‍മിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ… ഇനി വിവരങ്ങള്‍ നല്ക്കുനത് മാന്യമല്ലാത്ത രീതിയിലാണെങ്കില്‍ അതിനെതിരെ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് പരാതി നല്കുനില്ല. ഇതിനെതിരെ പരാതി നല്ക്കാനുള്ള വകുപ്പ് സെന്സെസില്‍ ഇല്ലെങ്ങില്‍ അത് സെന്സെസ് നടപടിക്രമങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു ന്യൂനതയായി എനിക്ക് തോനുന്നു .

6) പഞ്ചായത്ത് മെമ്പര്‍മാര്‍ സഹകരിക്കാതിരിനീട്ടുന്ടെങ്കില്‍ അത് തീര്‍ത്തും തെറ്റായ ഒരു കാര്യം ആണ്. അതിനെതിരെ പ്രതികരിക്കേണ്ടത് അത്യാവശ്യമാണ്.

7) സെന്സെസ് നടക്കുന്നു എന്ന് ഞാന്‍ അറിഞ്ഞത് തന്നെ എന്റെ വീട്ടില്‍ സെന്സെസിനു ഒരു അധ്യാപിക വന്നപോഴാണ്. അമേരിക്കയില്‍ ഒബാമ തുമ്മിയാല്‍ പോലും റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്‌ ചെയ്യുന്ന മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ സെന്സെസിനു വേണ്ടത്ര പ്രാധാന്യം നല്‍കിയിട്ടില്ല. കാരണം അതില്‍ വിവാദം കാര്യമായി ഇല്ലാലോ. വിവാധമില്ലെങ്കില്‍ പിന്നെ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്‌ ചെയ്തട്ടു എന്ത് കാര്യം എന്നാണ് നമ്മുടെ മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു ലൈന്‍…. ഒന്ന് രണ്ടു മനോരോഗികള്‍ കൂടി നഗ്നരാകുവാനെങ്കില്‍ (ഏലൂര്‍ സംഭവം) ഒരു പക്ഷെ മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ സെന്സെസ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്‌ ചെയ്തു തുടങ്ങിയേക്കും

8 ) സെന്സെസിനും മറ്റു കണക്കെടുപ്പുകള്‍ക്കും ആരെയും ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് വിടരുത് എന്ന് തന്നെയാണ് എന്റെയും അഭിപ്രായം. ഒരാള്‍ ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് പോകുനതും ഒരു ടീം ആയി പോക്കുനതും തമ്മില്‍ വളരെ അധികം വ്യത്യാസം ഉണ്ട്. കൂടെ ഒന്നോ രണ്ടോ പേര്‍ കൂടി ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ സെന്സെസ് പോലുള്ള
ജോലികള്‍ കുറച്ചുകൂടി എളുപമായേനെ.

Over the years Social media has grown bigger than imagination. Facebook, Orkut, Twitter to name the major players. In India Orkut has been the number one site for more than years even though others are slowly catching up. Initially social media was all about chatting , games , birthday wishes etc . But now i feel like the social media is slowly moving into its adulthood showing a lot of maturity among its users.

Twestival (Twitter Festival) is one such Global initiative we saw in recently . The Aim of this years twestival was to support education needs of children through the organization concern worldwide. It was a global event and we had our own cochin twestival as a part of the big event.. Twestival India Collected more than 3 Lakh rupees as part of the whole event in India. Isnt that awesome.

Orkut Kerala Community has started its own initiative to help out the needy. a Big community with more than 87000 members has realized its strength and is working out on what it can do to help out the needy people.

The First initiative of kerala Community was named NK’s First Steps to serve and it collected an amount of Rs 8120/- and was handed over to Gandhi Bhavan International Trust at Kollam. You can see the images in the Thread in kerala Community .

The Second Initiative to Serve the needy was started last month and we set the target date as April 4th The Easter Day. This time we were better planned and better organized. We had a target of 25000 Rupees in our mind. without much trouble we could collect the amount of 2500o rupees from the community. no one had to push anyone for money but the contributions came along easily. a good sign of maturity among the Users of social Media.

We collected a sum of Rs 28712/- and handed over the amount to Sree Narayana Sevika Samajam (Sree Narayana Giri.)

We are yet to finalize how frequent we should run such campaigns but surely we will try our best to help out the needy. and we realize money is not the only thing needed. Blood in case of emergency is always a concern. Last year we run a campaign for collecting blood when my friend was in seriously injured in an accident and needed more than 25 bottles of blood. Orkut, Facebook, Twitter all helped us to get enough blood in a very short time span which would have been otherwise too difficult. Social Media is proving to be more mature when it comes to serious and important things in life.

I wish the traditional media learn at least a little bit from social media and focus on whats good and needed for people rather than gossips and sensations.
